REALL Simulation

REALL Simulation (Reality Enrichment and Life Lessons) is an interactive program designed to help students better understand the challenges many families face while living on limited incomes.

Through a hands-on role-play experience, participants analyze how career choices, education, skills, and economic conditions affect income, budgeting, and overall goal attainment. The simulation provides youth with a realistic look at the day-to-day realities of financial hardship and encourages critical thinking about poverty and community change.

The simulation lasts approximately three hours from setup to take down and includes four “weeks” of role-play scenarios completed in 15-minute increments. During the experience, students must navigate common challenges related to housing, transportation, employment, childcare, and other basic needs while working to maintain stability.

Program Goals:
• Increase awareness of poverty-related challenges
• Encourage empathy and understanding
• Promote problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Demonstrate the impact of education and career choices
• Help students identify barriers faced by low-income families
• Inspire participants to explore ways to promote positive community change

The REAL Simulation gives students a meaningful opportunity to better understand the realities many individuals and families experience while encouraging discussion, advocacy, and community involvement.
