SkillUp
What is SkillUP?
SkillUP is a free program that helps people on SNAP (Food Stamps) get training, skills, and connections to find a job or a better job. A job coach will help you make a plan to reach your goals and start a career. SkillUP can also help with:
- Paying for short training or certifications
- Making or updating your resume
- Choosing career goals and a job path
- Getting work experience
- Connecting with employers
- Paying for things like childcare, work supplies, or car repairs
You can also use SkillUP to meet the SNAP work requirements, which may apply to some people. Some may not have to meet these requirements, like those in school, caring for children, or with health problems.
CAPNEMO is one of the agencies that can help you get started with SkillUP today! This program is funded by the USDA and is completely free.
