  • Head Start Teacher-Edina

    The CAPNEMO Head Start Program announces a vacancy for a Lead Teacher at our Edina Head Start Center. This is a Full-time/9-month position.

    The Teacher instructs children in activities designed to promote social-emotional, physical, and intellectual growth needed for primary school in preschool, daycare center, or other child development facilities.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include planning daily schedule and weekly plan, supporting the program's goals of the learning environment, assessment and individualization, health and safety, parent/family involvement, record keeping, and volunteers and community involvement (other duties may be assigned).

    Education/Experience: At least one of the following: 1) an associate, baccalaureate or advanced degree in early childhood education, 2) an associate, baccalaureate, or advanced degree in a field related to early childhood education and coursework equivalent to an major relating to early childhood education (15 credit hours) with experience teaching preschool-age children; 3) a baccalaureate or advanced degree in any field and coursework equivalent to a major relating to early childhood education with experience teaching preschool-age children.

    Must pass a Child and Elder Care Worker screening, provide proof of a yearly physical exam and TB test, and participate in all required training. Must maintain current First Aid and CPR certification. Must maintain a valid Class "F" driver's license, have reliable transportation, and meet Missouri automobile liability minimum requirements.

    Memphis Early Head Start Center is seeking a fun, responsible individual to provide care and educational activities to children from birth to 36 months old. The candidate has the major responsibility for maintaining a classroom environment that is nurturing, consistent, stable, and supportive of establishing close relationships with the infants and toddlers in care and their parents. The EHS teacher develops appropriate plans and individualized learning experiences for infants and toddlers in care.
    S/he supervises classroom volunteers. Participates in parent/teacher conferences and home visits. Works to fully involve families in the program. Follows all Missouri Childcare Licensing Regulations and Head Start Performance Standards and meets all Head Start recording-keeping and recording requirements.

    Education: A qualified applicant will have at a minimum a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential in infant/toddler or an AA or better degree in Early Childhood Education (or related field). Experience preferred.

    The CAPNEMO Head Start Program announces a vacancy for a Bus Driver at our Edina Head Start . The Bus Driver is responsible for busing Head Start children to and from the Head Start center. Additional duties may be assigned.
    Applicants must have a minimum of a valid Class “C” Commercial Driver License (CDL) with endorsements appropriate for driving a 22+ passenger bus, within 90 days of hire, and a High School Diploma or equivalent. Must have an acceptable National Driver Record and participate in/pass random drug and alcohol testing. Must pass a Child and Elder Care Worker screening. Must provide evidence of a yearly physical exam and TB test. Must participate in all required trainings.
    This is a 9 month/Part Time Position

    The CAPNEMO Head Start Program announces a full-time Center Supervisor/ Family Advocate vacancy at our Kahoka site available in August 2024. The Center Supervisor/Family Advocate is responsible for working with families to assess their needs, assist in meeting the needs of program objectives, and Social Service and Parent Involvement at the Head Start site. The Center Supervisor/Family Advocate oversees the daily center operation; including assurance of compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and Missouri Childcare licensing regulations.

    Education: Associate's Degree in social work, human service, family service or related field and staff supervision experience preferred, but will train the right candidate. Must be willing to obtain the Family Development Credential within 18 months of hire.
